I heard that you found room n last summer while you were covering for an investigative program. Why did you decide on the topic of digital sex crimes?
= I was angry when I saw the digital sex crimes that took place since 2018, such as the Jeong Joon-young case, the Seungri incident, and the reporters and teachers' group chat. If this doesn't work out, I thought about how I could live as a woman in Korea, so I decided to cover it because I wanted to do a little bit.
How did you first find the link to Telegram n?
= The operator of N-bang, called Watchman, was running a blog that wrote a review of pornographic content, and I wrote a review of N-bang there. I came in because there was a "Go-Dam-bang" link at the top of the blog. When I went in, Gotham was a big passage into room n. It took about five hours to get to room n.
- What did you think when you first saw room n?
When I saw the assailants talking nonsense like a normal conversation, I thought I should dig into it, so I decided to cover it. And I saw the women in room n and called the police station.
'There was a ridiculous conversation going on there, obviously young children.'
- What was the police response at the time of the report?
They were surprised and said they've never seen anything like this before. It's obviously a picture of young children, and it shows the identities of the victims, so they thought it was a very serious crime, so they connected it to the cyber investigation unit of the National Police Agency.
- There are several rooms. What kind of structure is it?
There's a Gotham room that we first went into, and it doesn't have videos of illegal filming or sexual exploitation, but it's open, and it only talks. Because Gotham is an important passage that connects you to another room, so you can't 'blow up'. But the level of casual conversation there is obviously dirty.
Go to room n or another room through Gotham. The room where the sex exploitation came up was called room n, and there were eight rooms from room one to room eight. Using the channel function, we ran it by allowing subscribers to view and download data without talking.
Other rooms are shared with illegal filming and pornography, not sexual harassment. There are all kinds of rooms, such as "Lauribang," "Trash Room," and "Hardcore Room," and I also made deals with foreign telegram users in chat rooms. There was a room called "Sosujeongye," but there were more than 100 participants.
So there were digital sexual exploitation, illegal sharing of photos, an "ambitious" room with pictures of acquaintances, and a room with deep-fake pornographic videos on the faces of ordinary people and celebrities.

- Why did you do that?
= You don't feel guilty about spraying it like that. 'Because it's not my business.And there were a lot of people who were looking for video n, so I'll give it to you since you're begging. There's no personal information in the compressed file, but Watchman posted an announcement saying, 'List of Slaves in N. There are cases where the victim's name, age and class of the school, cell phone number and address are from room 1 to room 8. I've described the victims' physical characteristics and types of damage. They registered it as a notice and promoted it in other rooms as well Rather than a lower room, you can think of n as another room.
What else do they talk about?
= There were many rooms in the chat room after class, so there were more than 10,000 conversations and tens of thousands of them. There were so many times that we had to spend at least four hours a day watching each other.
The level of conversation is out of control. When I saw the victim, I said, "He's my style. Let's go in front of the school and rape him. I'll recruit an expedition." That was a normal conversation. They make and use telegram stickers (emojis that users can make and distribute) from victim photos. Stickers are just for fun and shared by individuals. After the article came out, reporters, digital morticians, experts who interviewed them on TV, and police officers were captured and made into stickers.

- It seems like last November that there was a full-fledged media coverage of N-Room, but how did the Telegram room react?
They usually swear, but there were some kids who liked to read articles about themselves. In the captured version of the conversation in the article, you brag about your name and say congratulations to each other.
No one was nervous at all. "What if we get caught while doing this?" When we get caught, everyone gathers and encourages us. They say, "Never get caught," "Telegram doesn't cooperate with the investigation," "If it's not you, you won't get caught," "It's okay," and "Don't leave." in a tight manner
These days, people are saying that they won't be caught. Search for and share articles about telegram security, subscribe to a telegram with an overseas number, and then use the telegram function to hide your personal information, which is why you're so good at making your methods safe. That information was shared in Gotham, the first passage.
Some people said, "I didn't say anything, but I just looked at it. It's not fair."
There are still responses like, "What's going on with us because of Jo Joo-bin?" It's usually like, "I've only seen a porn. What's going on?" It's a sexual exploitation, and it's just called a "wildling." And then I feel safe. It's a common trait for the perpetrators who watched.
- Do you think platforms like Telegram are responsible?
= I think it's too much. Discord and Wicker can still cooperate, but Telegram doesn't have a history of cooperation, so they're relieved. IT and security must respond.
- I asked citizens to act as a watchdog. What can they do?
= I think you're doing well even now. A campaign to encourage telegram responses, a campaign to make the case an issue on Instagram or Twitter, an online petition, and a comment of support on our YouTube channel.
Is there anything you'd like to say last time?
= There are many people who support us. Thank you for your support, but we hope that the people will all join forces with the goal of overthrowing and solving digital sex crimes. There's Corona19, there's elections, but I hope this issue doesn't die and stays with us until the end.
